When we started planning our house in Harris the name Turadh was perfect. At the time we were living very busy lives in London and wanted to plan somewhere to escape to. Our trips to the Isle of Harris have always been a complete escape from the reality of our day to day lives.

It is not only this house but the whole Island that offers an escape from normality. On the Isle of Harris you have no choice but to stop, slow down and enjoy the Island pace of life. Take a moment to relax, have a glass of whiskey or a cup of tea in front of the fire and enjoy some fresh seafood. Turadh is the perfect place to relax and explore this Island and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

In 2017 we took our first trip to Lewis and Harris and fell in love with the Islands. The scenery took our breath away and we decided quickly that we wanted to build a house here. We found a plot in the most stunning location, opposite the Whaling station and knew it was the right place. Just a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute cycle from Tarbert you feel connected to the heart of the Island with all the privacy of uninterrupted views out to the Atlantic.
